| The Ten Commandos is a four-piece Boston band with Joshua Koplik on guitar and vocals, Steve Scott on guitar, keyboards, trumpet and vocals, Dan Fellini on bass and vocals, and John Walton on drums.
We got our name from XTC's Andy Partridge. He was kind enough to name our band for us at a recent autograph session for XTC's new album, Apple Venus. We are honored to have been given a name by someone we admire and respect. The Ten Commandos have been playing together since late 1998. When we were booted from a few rehearsal spaces in Allston, MA, we moved everything to Dan's cellar in Norwood. That is now The Ten Commandos' mission control. Our band is a collaborative effort. Each one of us writes songs for the band, and each of us gives the others the creative license to write our own parts. The result is a bunch of songs that, while originating from singular members of the band, take on the overall sound and feel that is The Ten Commandos. Our style is varied - we do not easily fit into any one category of music - but we are able to achieve a certain level of continuity because, musically, we are all of a similar mind. We hope you take a few minutes to download our MP3s at MP3.com and Boston.MP3.com. |
